About the Role
We are looking for Financial Intelligence Officers to join our small and dedicated team in the Financial Intelligence Unit following internal promotions.
Our core purpose is to protect the integrity of the Isle of Man’s financial system by contributing to the administration of justice through its expertise in detecting financial crime, and countering money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) receives, analyses and shares financial intelligence with both domestic and international partners.
Within this role, you will regularly interact with industry representatives, domestic and international regulators and law enforcement agencies as well as other FIU’s around the world. You are encouraged to identify a specialist area of professional interest within the wider disciplines of anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) and will be supported in building your expertise in this area. Experience gained in the FIU is viewed favourably in both the public and private sector.
We are looking for individuals who are keen to build upon their experience in dealing with reports of money laundering, financing of terrorism or suspected financial sanctions breaches gained either in the public or private sector, however full training will be provided if you're new to this area. We are open to speaking to people with a variety of backgrounds, so if you're a graduate or perhaps seeking a career change we would be more than happy for you to contact us to find out more.
In return, we can offer you free on-site parking at Finch Hill House and we operate a flexible working scheme. You will be encouraged to professionally develop in your career with the option to undertake specialist study for relevant professional qualifications which are funded by the Unit such as a diploma in Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism with the International Compliance Association. We have created a downloadable document, Our Benefits - A Quick Guide; have a read to see what benefits you could enjoy whilst working for us.
The Isle of Man Public Service is an equal opportunities employer which supports and promotes flexible working. We understand its benefits in improving work-life balance and supporting health and well being and, in its different forms; it is widespread throughout the Public Service. We are happy to discuss part-time or flexible working arrangements, including job share partnerships, for our roles (where possible) and if interested you should discuss this with the Hiring Manager.
